SPICE & STONE TOWN — THE FLAVOURS OF ZANZIBAR
Description.
9:00am – approximately 4:00pm
A full day combining a visit to a working spice farm and traditional Zanzibari lunch with a different-side-of-Stone-Town walking experience.
MORNING — THE SPICE FARM
Meet your private guide at 9:00am and head into the countryside approximately 30 minutes away from Stone Town.
Zanzibar is famous as the Spice Island, and this is your opportunity to experience that heritage at its source.
Walk through the farm with your guide, discovering the plants and spices that have shaped Zanzibar's history — from cloves, cinnamon and cardamom to vanilla, turmeric and tropical fruits.
You'll see, smell and taste the spices as they grow, rather than simply buying them in a shop.
TRADITIONAL ZANZIBARI LUNCH
After the farm visit, enjoy a traditional home-style Zanzibari lunch, prepared using local ingredients and flavours.
A relaxed opportunity to experience some of the food that forms part of everyday island life. Lunch included.
AFTERNOON — STONE TOWN
After lunch, return to Stone Town for your private walking tour.
Forget the standard Stone Town tour. Your guide will take you beyond the obvious sights, through hidden corners, lesser-known streets and atmospheric old buildings, while sharing the stories behind the city's fascinating mix of African, Arab, Indian and European influences.
Discover beautiful carved doors, unexpected details and places most visitors simply walk past.
This is Stone Town as a living city, rather than simply a collection of historic monuments. Tour ends at approximately 4pm.
